a sink is slight

you don’t get into the rad liberal arts college that nobody knows of, that everybody gets into.
you finally hear what S is saying, when Simon sings “like a bridge over troubled waters,” you find it funny that both their names begin with S, ta that S is also the first letter of saint. S would respond to my question about what happens if that doesn’t, excitedly high intention , “your body is built to deal with this.” Your brain will scroll like on a blue colored dashboard the picture of a father holding his son, saying something like "I created you with chubby cheeks to absorb shock.”

you realize it’s time to find your body’s response, and to gesture it, as if putting your hands on your own shoulders, over your own eyes, to find what you were built to deal with, and to shed the dealing that is disposable, the dealing that comes easily when some trauma erupts, something your body learned to dissolve into, you realize it’s time to move, to intentionally move. If not away, then around, it’s easy to respond, quick, release, but the body processes slowly, food becoming waste in not hours but days, medicine changing the brain chemicals in months not weeks. something says that this soul has a way of dealing, you trust that but also tap into the body, the language of ligaments, and not of english.

learning to trust your body, in lieu of your brain, in lieu of the phrases that come from your headspace, but don’t sound like you,
your body knows movement, and although it may follow the movement of another, it’s voice is yours, it’s code is yours, it is yours completely and always.
